It is worth noting that Alasdair Darling's children are ex-pupils of Stockbridge and that, after they moved to the south of Edinburgh, they continued to send their primary-school age child to Stockbridge, thus creating one of the 'out of catchment' children. In fact, even when they lived in Stockbridge they were still out of catchment.

His wife was a very active member of the parent body and was, I believe, involved in the fight for our own kitchen and improved toilet facilities.

Maybe we should be contacting him to support our school since he will understand, first hand, the catchment issue being used to condemn Stockbridge.
